OUR FOUNDER
IN THE WORLD, BUT NOT OF THE WORLD
Fr. Meyer envisioned a community of Sisters, whose spiritual life was based on the Word and
Sacraments, a community on mission, a community of the Sisters in the world but not of the
world. As Spiritual Director of his Sisters, he guided them to focus on Jesus alone and
contemplate the sufferings of Crucified Saviour when challenged by the difficulties of their
mission.
Through regular recollections, conferences, annual retreat and personal guidance, he exhorted them on the love of God and love of neighbour, and on the noblest priciples of Christian spirit of sacrifice. He had consultations with the Novice Mistress of the congregation of Holy Cross, Ingenbohl, regarding the spiritual formation of the Sisters.
Though the sisters rendered their services in the families, it was the community life where they shared life and love together that nourished their spirit and strengthened them for their mission.
